Playing around with dyeing some thread for bookbinding using fountain pen ink.
The pink is Diamine Purple Dream and the blue is Jacques Herbin Vert Atlantide.
This isn't actually dye and it isn't waterfast, but then neither are books.

Beside it is a small kitchenette, sink, single plug-in burner and a small fridge tucked underneath the counter which seems to serve as both table for eating and space. The personal touches are depressingly minimal. A chopstick rest in the shape of a duck, a silly little sculpture of a person made from bolts and widgets welded together and a little cork board on the wall beside the counter/table with a few photos of Han Ying and his staff pinned to it. Every single picture was taken on the grounds of the base with the exception of one, a picture of Han Ying standing alone, barefoot and smiling in the sand beside Tianchuang's right foot and in the background, the wide horizon and dark choppy waves of the ocean. That was two years ago? Three? Definitely not last year. says the dead person in his head. text in the image: He remembers the mission. Han Ying doesn't usually take to the field but they'd been deployed on the northeastern border for longer than usual and it had been deemed prudent for Tianchuang's primary crew to relocate with them instead of relying only on field crews until the mechs could reach home base near the capital. They'd been there for months, long enough for summer to drift into autumn and Zishu's joints to creak with the cold. The coastal base wasn't meant to accommodate a mech and its crew and was staffed with northerners who thought the cold was just fine and didn't see why they should waste precious fuel to heat the buildings to the tolerance of squishy southerners. He'd hated every moment. He didn't realise until now that Han Ying who almost never leaves the base and cannot legally leave the capital due to regulations might have been having a good time. That Han Ying might never have seen the ocean before.

Every time I look at this water bottle and see the stickers, 2/3 of which were expertly designed by someone I personally know, I giggle with delight. Fandom is a gift.
