More perimeter guarding with cow-snake in tow.
November 7, 2025 at 5:28 PM
Our security dog Chanel at work this morning, guarding the perimeter.

Playing with her cow/snake(?) squeaky toy, which she presents to me when I come out to see her.

I gave her some sardines as a treat, hence the chop-licking.

This is an older painting of mine (2005) of King Ghidorah vs. Mothra.

Some Carl Kolchak drawings from my sketchbook from a couple of years ago. (I really need to write that fanfic about the pumpkin spice demons...) 🎃

Happy Halloween.
Also the birthday of John Keats.
One of my rare full-color illustrations. (Gouache, colored pencils, ink pens.)

Happy early Halloween.
A commission from a few years ago of Peter Cushing as Van Helsing, inspired by Dracula A.D. 1972. (With Christopher Lee lurking in the background.)

I am definitely seeing the Bernie Wrightson influences too, especially for Oscar Isaac's look.

Excellent review, Verity!
So glad there will be an art book for the film. I have several of del Toro's other film art books and they're all so beautiful.

So excited for @realgdt.bsky.social's Frankenstein, and I wish I could see it in a theater before it hits Netflix. SO glad there will be an art book. I have almost all of del Toro's film art books, and I always look forward to how beautiful they are.

Oh, this was freaking hilarious. I just borrowed this from the library and this was the best laugh I've had all week. Peacemaker adopts a dog who promptly gets kidnapped. Chris goes all John Wick- in a typical Peacemaker way. Lots of DC character deep cuts.
(No animals were harmed in this comic!)

It's #AceWeek!

I found out that I was asexual late in life, after years of thinking I was broken (I wasn't), and that I wasn't alone.
"Oh, that's what I am! Now I know. COOL."

I love this ace pride thylacine art by:

My comfort reads lately have been superhero comics about animals. I just read Marvel Unleashed. OMG....

Going through some old sketchbook drawings from a few years back. Here's Doctor Strange.

Doctor Strange was the first ever Marvel character I actively bought and read as a teenager. I had been primarily a DC girl.

Obligatory post.

This cheered me up today. Two pre-orders I'd been waiting for all year arrived on the same day.

1) The new Witcher book. (Nice and big.)

2) And the Criterion edition of the film Flow. (It even has stickers!)

*Continues to scan the perimeter*

Scanning the perimeter.👀
September 26, 2025 at 4:38 PM
This is Chanel, our security dog at my work. (My day job.)
She's always scanning the perimeter.
I help take care of her at work and go out and play with her every morning.
Both she and I are aren't much fans of selfies.🐕‍🦺

This is what the cancelled one looked like from Big Chief.
I'm sure Twelve won't be fussy over what kind of guitar I give him. 😁

I had avoided reading this for years due to the subject matter. (It's heart wrenching. Also gory.)

But I finally borrowed it from the library this weekend, via Hoopla. And it's brilliant...
...and I don't think I'm capable of ever reading it again.😭😭😭😭

Sketchbook drawing of Twelve and Nardole rescuing a thylacine. Mostly done because I wanted to draw an angry 12th Doctor.

Done for a fanfic I wrote a while back on AO3, called "Endlings".

Yayyy!!! This book traveled a long distance, through space and time (and stupid tariffs) to finally get to me.

Brand new 8th Doctor EDA Wilderness era stories, with Fitz and Sam and the '90s gang. 😀 This is going to be read NOW.

Does anyone remember the book Thor?

This is the cover of the paperback I've had for years. A family's German shepherd knows there's something very wrong with Uncle Ted (spoilers: he's a werewolf.)

It was made into the film Bad Moon, but I liked the book a lot better. (As is usually the case.)

Here's my copy of the Giant Space Otter book. A dollar well spent.

(The sticker says I bought it in 2013. Still haven't read it.)
