1️⃣ Buffalo jails is notoriously deadly for people who are locked in.

And little has changed under the new GOP sheriff, despite a lot of talk, @rainalips.bsky.social And yet, he's running unopposed:
There’s a New Sheriff in Town. But Buffalo Area Jails Remain as Dangerous as Ever. - Bolts
Despite federal oversight, elections, and promises of reform from a new sheriff, little has changed for people detained in Erie County jails.

What does Dem nominee for NYC mayor Zohran Mamdani’s trip to see family have to do with the mass murder that took place in midtown Manhattan a week ago? Absolutely nothing
The @nytimes.com reported Mamdani was “facing growing criticism for his absence overseas.” The New York Post faulted Mamdani for his “tardy response to the shooting,” pointing out that he “finally offered a tweet 45 minutes after his rivals”—when it was 4 am in Kampala.

More than a year ago, New York Times management told its reporters covering Gaza to restrict the use of the terms "genocide" and "ethnic cleansing." Sounding the alarm on genocide earlier could have had an impact.

I am as reliable a Dem voter and activist as you are likely to find, and I am *LIVID* with the Dem establishment and Dem leadership.

They are a clown masterclass right now.

This Mamdani energy, though? PUT IT IN MY VEINS.
It’s hard to overstate how angry rank and file Dems are at the Dem establishment right now. And if I were a self-preservationist incumbent I would take note.

In slamming Mamdani, the NYT editorial board cited "reporting" by NY Mag, aka, a random quote from an unnamed legislator. I broke down the NY Mag piece for @fairmediawatch.bsky.social. It's easy to sow doubt about someone when most of your sources are anonymous ill wishers!
