Nothing beats a day at Wrigley Field! ⚾️🍿 The energy, the history, the sound of the crowd—it’s Chicago at its best. Grateful to cheer on the Cubs yesterday!

The American Dream is unaffordable and inaccessible, and that is unacceptable. In the past, you could strive to achieve a middle-class life, but today it’s a struggle. Our children are at a 30-year low in reading and math scores, and no one in Washington has noticed.

Congress found additional resources to enhance their own personal security (a worthy expenditure) but cannot find resources for the American public’s health care security.

Each of us has a responsibility to act with the civic and moral code that comes with our citizenship, and no one gets a pass. In the past, Presidents have led the nation by strengthening the threads that bind Americans.

Our city and our children were blessed because Sister Rosemary and Misericordia called Chicago home. She took the call of caring for those who were less fortunate and made it her life's mission. Her direct counsel and guidance made me a better public servant. She will be missed greatly.
Beloved for the energy, skill, devotion and unwavering faith she brought to Misericordia for more than half a century, Sister Rosemary died June 19 at Misericordia. She was 94.

Misericordia's Sister Rosemary Connelly has died at 94; 'She saw our kids as people, not as disabilities'
She built Misericordia into a model residence for Chicagoans with developmental challenges.

As President Biden often reminds us, his father would say, "When you get knocked down, you get back up." Joe, we know you'll get back up and back to work on the cancer moonshot. Amy and I are rooting for you.

Harvard, Columbia, Cornell, Northwestern, Brown. Notice Trump has not said a word about Yale, the alma mater of JD Vance, Secretary of Treasury Bessent and Trump donor Stephen Schwarzman. Are we fighting antisemitism or is this political retribution? yaledailynews.com/blog/2024/08...
Looking back: A year of protests on Israel and Palestine at Yale

Trump's tariffs represent the largest tax increase in memory. Years from now, historians will see this moment as the most glaring example of a president squandering America’s geostrategic advantages and our chance to alter the US-China competition in our favor. www.washingtonpost.com/opinions/202...
Opinion | Trump’s folly is piling up. And America is weaker for it.
The president just gave China a get-out-of-jail-free card.

Real talk. We got ourselves into a cultural cul-de-sac.

We weren’t good on kitchen table issues or the family room. The only place we did well in the house was the bathroom. That’s the smallest room in the house.

Is it Groundhog Day for Secretary of Defense Hegseth, or a good idea has a thousand fathers? You pick, but this tough-on-China move was delivered by the Biden Administration while Pete Hegseth was sitting on the sofa at Fox. www.cnn.com/2024/07/27/a...

Spring break is almost over. Heck of a job, Vancey, posing in a parka on a frozen island. Meanwhile back here in America the Trump Administration has broken Social Security, leaving seniors out in the cold and IRS checks frozen. They care more about Greenland than Grandma.
