New bowl I made out of ambrosia maple and walnut.

I didn't generate this but liked it... aside from my hair being long it's actually pretty spot on...

Another #macro shot of a walking #iris bloom. I love all the color and textures on them! #canon #photography

The #StateMuseumofPennsylvania has an annual juried #ArtoftheState exhibit where residents submit any medium of #art. Out of 2,344 submissions this year they picked 97 and this #photo of mine was accepted! It will be on display in Harrisburg from June 8 to September 14. #photography #kite

My walking #iris is blooming right now because I keep them in my greenhouse over winter. Imagine dozens of these all over. The photo is a focus stack of 30 images taken with my #macro lens. #flowers #purple #canon

My wife loved this poem enough to center our wedding ceremony around it 20-some years ago, and she decided this year to have someone draw up a nice copy of it. I made the #frame. It’s made from #sapelle which I love for its shimmery grain pattern and rich color. #woodworking

Which finish do you prefer? The left #bowl I finished with #shellac, while the right one I finished with #boiledlinseedoil. Try to ignore the different design. The shellac is glossy while the BLO is matte. Same wood. Thoughts? #woodworking

New incense #bowl I made as a gift out of #walnut and a little resin. I really like the delicate profile. #woodworking

An unusual project for me—Penn State’s herbarium asked me to make a demonstration of how #fern leaves evolved over time as a #puzzle that kids can do. Never made a puzzle before, first time using a scroll saw! #woodworking

A slab made for #bonsai display made from western #walnut. I was drawn to the natural “yin-yang” appearance of the heartwood and softwood. #woodworking

My psychologist colleague Dan Warner and I gave a presentation today about considerations for recommending psychotropic medication to children at PA's annual #NAMI conference in Pittsburgh today. We got a lot of support from attendees for prescriptive authority for psychologists.

I cut up a #burl of what I think is #maple into 3 slices to be used as #bonsai or #kusamono tables. Lovely burliness!

Oh I just love Chinese-written product manuals. Who is YOUR trustworthy foe?

I made two #bonsai display tables from slices of an #oak #burl. Both stained, one finished with #shellac and the other with poly. Each about 15” wide.

Another #slitscan #photo. This was an #airplant in bloom, rotating on a table one direction then reversing direction to create the mirror effect. #photography #abstractart #art

Another #slitscan #photograph, this was a coil of illuminated plastic, basically, a decorative light strip that is rotating on a table. #abstractart #photography

Ok let’s post some other stuff for a bit: this is a #slitscan #photograph. I don’t remember what the subject was but it’s rotating on a table which creates this effect. #abstractart #art

New #endgrain #cuttingboard with built in handles I just finished for a client. Mix of woods including #walnut, #cherry, #maple, and #oak. Finished with #tung oil for maximum water resistance, gives it a warmer tone that I like. #woodworking

Another #stuntkite #photo. I adjusted the colors to create a better sense of shape and contrast, and because it looked cool! #longexposure #nightphotography #canon #prismkites #lighttrails #abstractart #ledlights #photography #kite #art
