I also think of Mrs. Mayberry, another sinner that had lived a mostly good life until she took her and her husband's life in front of her students, something she felt deep shame and regret over. Not saying the sin itself wasn't enough, but that guilt was the last thing really shown in her human life

Sir Pentious, along with committing the sin of nonaction, clearly felt the weight of the lives he could have saved. His sacrifice did something to absolve that weight, to fix the scales as it were and truly put his life on the life for people he admired, leading to his redemption.

Carrion is pulled into working as a bell hop at the hotel due to his contract with Alastor, but I like to think he worked maybe at a record shop during his inactive years in Hell. Pretty sure that's a common job for washed up musicians that couldn't make it, haha.
