If this pace continues, in 2030 1.5 Terrawatts of batteries will be installed and we will have added 3.5 TW.
By 2040 we would install 250,000 TW.
No doubt the S-curve will flatten out before that. But I expect by 2050 wall batteries will be as ubiquitous as toilets.

In 2008, there was a drought which caused hydropower generation in Uruguay to drop from 8 TWh in 2007 down to 4.5 TWh. And oil prices hit a peak of $150/barrel.
Something had to change.
