While crossing the Congo Basin forest, Woodland Kingfishers fly higher and longer, with extended stopovers before or after - a behavior resembling barrier crossing! 🌳✈️

Our study reveals that our Woodland Kingfishers migrated to a non-breeding site with a habitat similar to the breeding site, matching conditions like rainfall, vegetation greenness and temperature. 🌧️🌱🌡️
