30ish years ago I was browsing in an alternative clothes shop. They were playing some techno. "This is cool". Also had flyers for a club night of the same kind of music. So I checked it out.

Your commercial organisation could pay the maintainers of those packages. Or, as it's *open source* have your software developers sound some of their time contributing fixes to those libraries.

The main objection I have is that it seems to move along the pavement in a way that makes pedestrians feel they have to get out of the way and step into the road. It doesn't have any of the eye contact/body language abilities that humans do so it's a vehicle but one that can't go on the road.

Or the circuses. Can't waste money on funding for the Arts.

It's interesting how people insist on something complicated (project plans, estimates, Gantt charts) instead of something superior and simple (do the next small best thing, repeat) because of unacknowledged constraints. In this cases, making managers *feel* like they are "in control".

This is an interesting test because I guess *all* the training images that were about this specific thing would have been correct.

And I thought LLMs could get people killed only by encouraging them to suicide.

This is fine. It's all fine.

Does this mean pro AI people will add you to a block list so you never see their posts?

We've done a poor job of communicating that "delivery" usually means comprehending, altering, testing and debugging code, and that when we say software is high quality we mean those things are quick and reliable. "quality" leads to "delivery". /4

And also how (as you've pointed out before, IIRC), "quality" is a meaningless term to senior managers. "Quality" is just moaning to them. If they think they can get "delivery" in exchange for moaning from people *beneath* them, so be it. /3

It reminded me how senior managers have 1) almost no knowledge of the realities of software development 2) prefer authoritarian approaches 3) will micromanage when there is a problem. And this combination is fatal for software development. /2

Here at Hellscape Ltd. one of our Principal Engineers bemoaned that "the business" had prioritised "delivery" over "quality". A Delivery Manager previously told me they had been *ordered* not to spend time on writing automated tests to "save time". /1

Nuremberg 2.0 is an old anti-vaxxer trope @gorskon.bsky.social wrote about in 2022. Read about it.
During COVID doctors and nurses and public health workers were constantly threatened with Nuremberg trials for being pro vaccine. Trump is tying it all together.
COVID-19 vaccines and the Nuremberg Code
Antivaxxers love to claim that vaccine mandates (especially COVID-19 vaccine mandates) violate the Nuremberg Code and call for Nuremberg-style tribunals to hold public health and vaccine advocates "ac

I hand wrote all my mocks and stubs, without a framework to help me, **in C++**. And liked it.

But he does not say *why* other companies will be affected by the "AI" bubble bursting.

The bubble is being inflated by massive companies (Google, Amazon, Microsoft) who have effective monopolies. When it bursts, they can increase their charges to companies to recoup their losses.
