I’m just watching it now and it feels kind of surreal. Like it’s not for me or any creative professional. Everything is how to eliminate me. I can’t choose a different career, but it makes me feel like my time doing what I love is numbered, or at least that it will change drastically quickly.

I ran a business for a bit during the 2010s that hired teens and young adults and it was also REALLY hard to find anyone in the 'richer' neighborhood. Almost none of those kids got jobs, and if they did they didn't need them, so they worked like shit.

I started when I was 15 as well, and I think that's about when the transition happened because most places were stunned that I would even try to apply. A lot of them definitely couldn't hire under 16 and then others didn't want under 18 due to regulations.

One of the schools I went to had something like that. Not a class, but there was a rotation where I think 1 or 2 kids had to work in the cafeteria every day.

I also thought that was a given from most proposals I’ve seen from knowledgeable people. There are still some possible workarounds (like creating a rotating jurisdiction with a bunch of added justices)

The thing I always come back to is that I will likely spend my entire life, birth to death (unless something REALLY drastic happens), without living a single second of a liberal Supreme Court.

This has always baffled me a bit. Millenial here and not even the really well off people in college were living alone. I knew precisely zero friends or acquaintances that did. Everyone had a roommate or significant other.

I work for a construction company (in the office) and I genuinely don’t know how the industry will continue with that prohibition and the extreme need for more laborers.
