There are several methods to reconstruct a Radiance Field. The two most popular ways right now are #NeRFs and #GaussianSplatting ( #3DGS )
Woo believes that Radiance Field representations, like Gaussian Splatting are a powerful medium to tell stories and bring people the news. He's right and I believe sooner than later news teams will be bringing people closer than ever before to the stories they cover.

He then brought the capture into the PlayCanvas Engine, where the resulting file size is only 30mb!

If you're reading this on mobile, still open it! It runs so smoothly and you can use AR, too.

Woo aligned the images in Capturing Reality and used Nerfstudio's gsplat with its powerful bilateral guided radiance field processing to reconstruct almost 3,000 images, shot on four different cameras at various times of the day. All of this on a single 4090.

Hopefully we’ll see some radiance fields in Apple Maps this year!

Gaussian Splatting and NeRFs are both Radiance Fields. Not photogrammetry :)

Congratulations!

I would strongly recommend focusing on the overall technology of radiance fields as opposed to individual methods. They're all going to become significantly stronger

This rendering is actually a NeRF believe it or not! Luma trains both!

Radiance Field methods like Gaussian Splatting creates hyper real 3D from a series of normal 2D images!

You should definitely check it out!
