I’m on my first date in a while that seems to be actually successful. He gives young Jon Favreau vibes, and is a chef. Countdown to be screwing it up somehow.

Everyone’s so quick to say the pope is dead, but has anyone considered we should wait 3 days?

It's cool how all the people in charge are Nazis and rapists and each one has like 4 different random roles. This 19 year old guy is a pedophile, he's now secretary of 3 different cabinets *and* 3rd most senior DOGEr *and* a Tesla manager etc.

like the org chart is just rancid fucking vibes.

Pro of tearing all the tags out of my shirts: no itchy neck all day!
Con: Did I just put this plain crewneck on backwards again?

Kidnapping…they’re kidnapping folks
A US-born citizen was walking near Chicago in January. ICE snatched him off the street, handcuffed him, threw into a van. His wallet, which contained his ID, was confiscated. He was detained for 10 hours before being released without a record of what occurred.

Tbh the main reason I’m antsy for the weather to warm up, is just so the “room temperature” butter I leave on my kitchen counter is actually a spreadable level of softness.

Something my generation doesn’t complain enough about is that we grew up trying to learn how to spell opera during peak Oprah era.

We now know UnitedHealth—under Brian Thompson—illegally overcharged cancer patients for meds by more than 1000%.

What we don't know is how many cancer patients died or were financially ruined as a result?

What we demand to know is why that act isn't deemed corporate murder & where are the arrests?

When I first joined this site there was a great ethos going around that here on BlueSky (as opposed to Twitter) if you see a bad take, you block and move on. You don’t give oxygen to the flame. No reskeeting bad takes to dunk on them.
That seems to have changed and I feel pretty disappointed.

Remember: It’s always more important to identify actors from their previous roles than it is to watch the current movie on your screen.

Meta literally created a LGBTQ exception for calling someone mentally ill as an insult. You can't do it for any other group except LGBTQ people.

Babygirl and Nightbitch look like very opposite movies that I’m very excited to watch back to back.
Preparing my theory now that every woman is either a babygirl or a nightbitch.

You morons, you can't repeat the Gilded Age. That's not how history works--it only goes in one direction. Now let me take a big sip of coffee and make sure no nihilistic young Italians have built homemade weapons with which to assassinate robber barons.

Wondering if I should start to track the times at work that a customer compliments my lovely (Star of David) necklace and then ends the interaction by wishing me a Merry Christmas.

look, women aren't swooning over the CEO killer because of his jawline, they're swooning because that man made a plan, added lots of thoughtful details, and executed it flawlessly

Keep seeing the news refer to the “CEO of one of America’s largest health care providers”.
Reminder that your DOCTOR is your health care provider. Health insurance not only doesn’t “provide” health care, but their main aim is to get your doctor to provide you with as little of it as possible.

I'm seeing "celebrating this murder is a slippery slope" arguments & oh my god, what world are you living in?
Cops murder people all the time and are cheered on by the right & center. All kinds of social murder are accepted as a part of modern life.
Our society is ALREADY at the bottom of the slope.

Trying to remember the last time I saw a $10,000 bounty on the head of some dude who killed his wife and kids.
Are CEOs really that much more valuable than the rest of us?

Poor people die so the rich can profit all the time; the rich dgaf

What you’re seeing is poor people starting to feel about the rich the way the rich feel about the poor

Why it’s scary is there are a lot of poor people

If the rich aren’t scared it’s because they defunded too many history programs
It’s not going to show up in an article or coverage tomorrow, but the open murder of a CEO was cheered by a ton of people and turned into a meme.

Like, I really don’t think people have fully wrapped their heads around how quickly shit is changing and what the overarching sentiment is becoming.

okay yeah sure i guess instead of killing him i guess i wish the gunman could have followed that guy around every minute of the rest of his life forcing him at gunpoint to be a moral person under penalty of death and we could assign a similar gunman to all evil CEOs but it doesn't seem realistic

The initial love story conflict in Twilight is that Bella and Edward fall in love despite the fact that he’s very dangerous to her. That others of his kind are violent killers.
The same plot could have just as easily been done if instead of a vampire, Edward was simply a human man.

I appreciate that modern slang has given us “spicy” as a synonym for “sexy”, and also “neurospicy” for “neurodivergent”.
Because the absolute sexiest thing about me is my complete inability to control my focus or produce functional amounts of dopamine.

It’s not that I have a low bar for men. It’s just that I’d be pleasantly surprised by one who could see me come out of the bathroom with a skincare mask on and not crack a joke. Every time.
I can’t overstate the cumulative psychic damage I took from 18 years of living with partners who mocked me.
