It's soon to be our Christmas event at Gawthorpe Hall and one of the perks of the job is that I get to decorate with greenery grown in the grounds. Today I made this wreath which will hang under our central chandelier ( it's currently in quarantine for another day for bugs). Will put in place tmrw

My job today involved this... #Halloween #heritage

But most importantly, there's this.... it used to be above the door of a house my Grandma lived in 1920/30's. We walked past every day to nursery and school

And a handful of #CWGC graves

There is also the ubiquitous loyal dog on grave (with local legend to boot)

You can tell much about the wealth of an area by its graveyard. St Nicholas' in Newchurch (Rossendale, not Pendle) has some spectacular 19thC monuments to grief from a small area.
