So…about AI’s energy use…

“…to create a five-second video, a newer AI model uses ‘about 3.4 million joules, more than 700 times the energy required to generate a high-quality image’. That's the equivalent of running a microwave for over an hour.”
Report: Creating a 5-second AI video is like running a microwave for an hour
That's a long time in the microwave.

It's soon to be our Christmas event at Gawthorpe Hall and one of the perks of the job is that I get to decorate with greenery grown in the grounds. Today I made this wreath which will hang under our central chandelier ( it's currently in quarantine for another day for bugs). Will put in place tmrw

I've started a starter pack for academics and organizations focused on the #19th century! I'm sure I have missed many, many people (I was trying to get this started quickly) — comment below if you want to be added.

Love this recipe, have made it for years. I often swap out the pistachios and add either a Terry's dark chocolate orange or a box of mint Matchmakers or After Eight mints. Also works with a small shot of Baileys too
Hey everyone, Nigella is here 👇 Highly recommend her very simple chocolate pistachio fudge recipe, easily the most compliments I've ever received for my cooking! (Low bar, I know)

I've spent much of the last year having a crash course in #17thCentury history. Gawthorpe Hall's latest exhibition "An Account of Life" uses an incredibly rare source to tell the story of life at the Hall just after it was built. Have a read our blog lancashiremuseumsstories.wordpress.com

You can tell much about the wealth of an area by its graveyard. St Nicholas' in Newchurch (Rossendale, not Pendle) has some spectacular 19thC monuments to grief from a small area.

Excited about this exhibition. 4 years of the Shuttleworth Accounts transcribed in full by Dr Isobel Stanton with some great information on the 17th century household and a couple of new mentions of the #PendleWitchTrials #1612. Just need a crash course in context now. twitter.com/LancsMuseums...
