With hindsight, my daughter playing videogames when she 'should have been revising' seems like it wasn't such a bad idea.

The earlier EEF research is discussed in the paper (and the recent follow up). There's always a tension between sample size and having tight control over adminstration of research trials remotely.

Some similarities, but data analysis by UCL education neuroscience team shows that the findings are *statistically significant*. We co-created a video resource that allowed tight control over the spaced learning input across schools and could be administered in a single science lesson.

We have tested with students, aged 14-16, but the approach and resource could lend itself to improving subject knowledge for those teaching physics out of field
