And sometimes Jesus sends the eye doctor to heal us of our poor vision. I’m thankful that, unlike in the apostles time, physicians now could help me do some things, simple things really, to love my body more. I’m not in the “wrong” body, but a trans body, and “I am fearfully and wonderfully made.”

It feels like a lifetime, but incredibly just a few years ago? My twice annual pilot medical exam, and this was my last using my old name. The happy smile is that of a person just days away from a new life. I can’t adequately express the joy of and meaning of a name which reflects one’s true self.

I avoid reposting twitter, but this is well put. Directed at Musk but captures Trump, too. I think it's tragic that such men are so clueless about the beauty of life. I believe their lack of joy is why they try to squash life and light from all of us. Living joyfully is how we will overcome.

Speaking of going out, making an effort today 😊

I admit I have fear when I travel, even just to the local store. Like all women I have to be aware, even wary. And especially so under this regimes increasing efforts to endanger me. But I keep going out, every day, and I love my life. I will watch your back, friends, please watch mine.

My Halloween and birthday wish for my country and our world, is that we would shed the robes of hate and clothe ourselves in humanity.

MTV memories put me in a mood to listen to Stop Making Sense end to end! “Girlfriend Is Better” was a brilliant video from a time when MTV was something.

Love, too, the Al Green cover “Take Me To The River” and “Burning Down The House” inspired by the iconic P-Funk NYC show.

Who got a match? 🔥

Having a common name and a more famous namesake, (luckily?) the real me isn’t even on the first page! I sometimes wonder if most of my followers have mistaken me for the NPR version! 🤔😁

You can take the girl out of the 70’s, but…

It’s Scrappy’s world and the rest of us just get to live in it (this used to be the dog’s bed).

I’m grinding through some really dull training today and scrolling down memory lane during breaks. Here’s a pic of a plane I later flew… In 1962 this JAL flight landed short of the airport in SF Bay. Everyone survived! I later served as flight engineer on this same plane for a cargo carrier.

“I wanna be that girl
I wanna know what it's like to fall in love like
Most of the rest of the world
But as far as these songs will take me
Is as far as I'll go
I'm just a gay kid in a small town
Who loves country radio”

A good friend on another site posted something which touches an area of great frustration for me, which I feel compelled to address if anyone would like to hear 🧵

Reading that very inspirational account of the RMS Carpathia's efforts to rescue Titanic survivors, put me in mind of this wonderful non-fiction account from Farley Mowat of the salvage tug Foundation Franklin which also operated in the North Atlantic.

A short working vacation near the water, which is always a balm to my soul.

Life continues apace in these troubled times.
