Hi #AcademicSky! I’m Rachel. I research the role of media in encouraging young people’s sexual assault/mental illness disclosure.

I also love community-based learning in PR classrooms.

I wish I was going to #NCA2024 this year! Conferencing after the pandemic is so tough.

Just went to follow up on a very exciting meeting and realized it was Dec 10. Totally missed it!

How is this the same brain that made it through grad school and wrote a whole diss??

Gonna give students and my peers so much grace this semester!

Halfway done with Year 3 of tenure track, and I have officially transitioned from a 3-3 to a 2-2 course load. Ready to dive into research and find new research connections.

Let me know if you want to collab on a conference paper!

I responded to a horrible SA case when I worked in campus housing. I testified in court, and the rapist only got probation.

Then I worked at a rape crisis center in my early 20s. I was told to expect more hotline calls after an impactful episode of Grey’s Anatomy. www.vulture.com/2019/06/grey...

I’ll be honest. I have been actively grieving the loss of Twitter. I was an early adopter back in 2011 when I was in high school. I tweeted through so much life before I made an academic twitter in grad school.

This data is so rich. Although the account is basically dead, I’m afraid to let go!
