A fair concern! Visual artifacts are the hallucinations that need to be tamped down.

To suppress visual artifacts, the researchers used conjugate gradient methods and measured how well generated images matched measurements. Keep in mind, it’s still early days with this tech.

You know what would be even more useful, a static projector for cameras. Like imagine that disk on the right has a live feed of a camera looking at a different object. In other words, when you rotate that portal the perspective doesn't change, it's 'baked' in.
