Hey folks, my kid is doing one of those discount card fundraisers for his school. Even if you’re not in our area, it’s possible there’s a card for your area (and who knows? Your discounts might be better than ours!)

Did your child lose their book collection in the Los Angeles fires? Are you a teacher at a school that lost its library or your classroom library? Whether you need one book or a whole library, we can replace your books. 📚

Everyone else, please boost this post so we can connect with those in need. 🙏

Extremely unsatisfactory experience at my local #Subway today. I just want a relatively healthy meal we didn’t have to cook so we can watch football!

Gee, @primevideo.bsky.social can show me all the commercials, but the moment @nfl gameplay starts, it crashes.

We don’t do a lot of theater movies for various reasons, but I have to say that Red One is particularly good on streaming because my husband, son, and I can yell at the characters without blowback. This movie is a lot of fun! #RedOne

I spent my day accompanying 15 students (ranging from grades 3-8) from my son’s gifted program on a field trip. Really awesome stuff, but man am I glad mine is a singleton.

This is THE song that made me learn how to chase an earworm out of my brain. Unfortunately, I still only have maybe a 40% success rate (and usually end up with Jingle Bells a la Bart Simpson stuck instead if I do succeed).
on “Wonderful Christmastime,” Sir Paul McCartney set out to make a timeless christmas classic and also to figure out what every button on his synthesizer did, and he absolutely succeeded at one of those things

I went to a Scout event this evening and was commiserating about the sucktitude that is shingles with grandparents of one of the other Scouts. I said it would be 2 more years until I can get the vaccine, and the woman blurted “You’re 48?! I thought you were <daughter>’s age.”

She was born in 1990.

Okay, I am fairly certain none of the family follow me here, so I’m going to take a chance and gripe a bit. Buckle up for some #FamilyDrama!

My husband is an only child and twice over a survivor of suicide (separate events).

@gailsimone.bsky.social I just finished your novel! I absolutely adore how you handled Sonja, though I must admit I am not overly familiar with the character.

Thank you for a WONDERFUL story!

I’m doing something new for 2024. I plan to read the entire Collected Works of Shakespeare over the course of the year. It’s my #Shakesyear

At a pace of ~1 act per day, and with sonnets and other things sprinkled throughout, I could finish in August. 1/2

Husband, after reading KPS and Starter Villain: I know you’ve been talking about @scalzi.com for a while now. What should I read next?

Me: let me coordinate with my mom.

Today, between us, he got Redshirts, Old Man’s War, and all 3 Lock In books.

Gotta love having that one friend with the strong meme game, then watching the rest of you tag her in the goofiest stuff you come across just to say you love each other.

I have one of these boards, which is just enough larger than my dining room table that it’s easier to lay patterns out in the living room floor.

I spent about 90 minutes tonight pinning and cutting munchkin’s Halloween costume.

And then had to use Voltaren or face back spasms.

Leader: We need to start sending (records that are currently descoped from the integration) and display (field that defines in/out of scope today) by November.
Me: Neither the end-result system, nor the two systems in between have a field to catch the data.
