Attended another funeral for a friend's parent. I guess we are just now in that age range. It's been the 3rd passing of a friend's parent this month and I fully expect my mom to not make it through this year. Such is the cycle of life.

I usually hate the stuff that is posted on NextDoor; however, it has been busy today with everyone notifying others where ICE is hitting. I feel so bad for these people.

Being a person with deadly, incurable cancer who is nonetheless still alive for an indefinite timeframe gives me an interesting metaphor that helps me deal with things like large-scale corruption in government or commerce.
Bear with me for a second while I try to explain.

Fridays are my day to visit my mom, who is in late stage Alzheimer's. We don't do much, but it is SO exhausting to just be present. I have no idea how my brother and dad deal with it daily. So much respect for them both.

At the Social Security office today the security guard and assistant were completely inept and disrespectful. However, once I finally got to the person behind the desk, I found her to be quite polite and efficient. So how do you rate them if they're not separated on the review form?
