We went from “what good are the humanities?” to “suddenly, no one can read” in about a year, and the answer to the first question is the disinformation and lack of critical thinking you see all around you. *That* is why you need the humanities. This is what they prevent.

Once again I am leaving the Munich Security Conference in a low mood. Amongst all the noise, the US signalled their plans for Europe, so things are becoming clearer. But things are clearly not good.

"AI" creative writing looks passable to people who don't look at writing all day long. To editors, it pops out like a sore thumb. LLMs are glorified predictive text machines and they predict, well, predictably. PS: if you submit an "AI" story, the editor WILL remember you, and not in a good way.
I can usually tell if something was written by AI in the 1st paragraph. I don’t know if it’s my divergence or the fact that I’ve read a ridiculous amount 🤷🏻♀️

Echte Schulen - das sind die, wo zeitgleich Fenster fast aus dem Rahmen kippen, Stühle kaputt sind (weil SuS sie auseinanderschreiben während des Unterrichts...) und es immer viel zu warm oder eiskalt ist, während Ipads jederzeit greifbar sind mit stabilem Wlan. Realität ist nicht schwarz-weiß.
