His offices wouldn’t accept voicemails. Absolute asshole.

He won’t take calls from his constituents but he will sell us out.

Senator Durbin’s offices don’t allow voicemail. He will not take our calls but perhaps he’ll take yours, governor?

Bill Watterson would eventually make Hobbes a god.

Durbin and Peters, two of his colleagues supposedly working on folding, aren’t running for reelection. They will suffer no consequences. Ugh. And for my Illinois peeps don’t bother trying to call Durbin. Neither of his offices will allow voicemails.

Neither of Durbin’s offices allow voicemails. Business hours my ass.
November 9, 2025 at 11:03 PM
Durbin isn’t running for reelection, so he doesn‘t 1) give a damn about selling us out nor 2) allow voters to leave a goddamned voice mail with his offices.
November 9, 2025 at 11:01 PM
I can tell everyone what a specific senator is NOT doing tonight: allowing Illinois voters to leave a goddamn voicemail!

Where @karenattiah.bsky.social leads, I will follow. Her idea arrived right as my ass got off of the weight bench. :)
November 9, 2025 at 10:38 PM
If I can call both of Dick Durbin’s offices from a fucking weight bench at the gym, then his shit should function at the barest minimum by letting me leave a voicemail. Business hours my ass. ARRGH.

I joined folks in Albany Park looking for ways to get involved in #Chicago resistance against ICE. There I bumped, literally, into serendipity on meeting these two gentlemen: Donald and Jim (center, right). They've been together for 45 years and have the same goddamned names as me and my husband.

And so it begins. Our first snow of the season in #Chicago.

Congratulations! The Chicago Public Library has three copies of your book and I'm number 27 in line. Ahhh!

The Episcopal Church is not perfect; though, in my experiences since joining in 2012 it has been taking seriously Christ's call for us to "feed his sheep." I am again thinking about it this morning as we describe without flinching the government's cruelty inflicted upon the vulnerable.

Today is my birthday. I got beautiful flowers from my husband and brother.

We travel during the first week of October, because in it are our wedding anniversary and James’ birthday. This year, we came to Costa Rica.

I finally signed up as a supporter of @thetriibe.com. The word finally is intentional, as I should have done so immediately after reading this:

I used to live in the district that @schakowsky.house.gov has served with distinction and that @katmabu.bsky.social hopes to represent in Congress. The folks of Rogers Park have an exciting opportunity to elect someone who will represent their ethics and values in Washington.

What’s the difference between a fascist and a company that supports fascism? Nothing. Fuck #Disney.

It brings me great satisfaction to realize and remember on this sunny September afternoon that the first thing I ever checked out from our Chicago Public Library was “Hunger” by the great @roxanegay.bsky.social.

Doing something for others often cures my anxiety about having so little control to end injustice. Writing out postcards to voters in Virginia is the right prescription for this moment.

The Chicago Public Library doesn't have a copy of your book; so, I submitted a request for them to get one -- somehow. Fingers crossed!
