1st Rule of Books is, lay them flat, stack books vertically. Why? On edge/vertical they deform at the bottom and they can and do swell, stacked on flat/horizontal the books on top act like a book press so if you dog ear a page and want to set it right? and you don't own a book press? Easy.

I wish we had European style Socialized Medicine like I enjoyed in the US Navy. Why? Only paperwork I ever filled out was basic paperwork when it was required, which was rare. I never paid a cent, never got a bill and if I needed a day off they called my 'boss' and told them I wasn't going in.
