These folks are monsters—just absolutely horrible people.
The federal government plans to eliminate services for LGBTQ youth who call 988, the national suicide and crisis hotline, according to a Health and Human Services budget draft leaked last week.
HHS plans to cut the national suicide hotline’s program for LGBTQ youth
In February, the program received an average of 2,100 contacts per day.

Many of you may not be familiar with #NIH grants. Here are some facts to help you understand the magnitude of this disaster.
1) NIH grants are extremely difficult to get & not "free money". Researchers must have preliminary data & write detailed proposals. Mine was >200pages & took years to put

A sad but important time to remember this study in Lancet Public Health that found lack of access to gender-congruent government identification was linked to greater odds of suicidality for #trans Americans.

Hi everyone! 👋 Officially migrating here from Twitter/X. I'm a postdoctoral fellow at Brown University. My research focuses on treatment development and social factors (stigma, social isolation) related to suicide and psychosis. I'm also newly licensed and work clinically with teens with psychosis.
