100% agree. I grew up in the cult of Fox News, and years of casually watching The Daily Show in the late 00s was a major contributor to my opening up to opposing views. I slowly evolved from "yeah this thing about the right is fucking stupid" to "oh, that entire world view is bullshit"

Lol yeah it's definitely not easy to get into, especially if you're new to the Cosmere. Took me a couple tries, but worth the effort. (Would recommend starting with Mistborn, if you haven't read that series yet. It's wonderful, and it's a much less demanding entry point to the universe.)

I borrowed it from my mom's bookshelf the first time I read it ❤️ It's a beast of a book, I lugged it around with me everywhere for at least a month. I'd recommend if you like low fantasy epics or Stephen King, but I'd caution that a few of its elements are fairly insensitive by modern standards.
