Stopped at the Eiteljorg Museum in Indianapolis on the drive home. It was well worth $20 just to know that this Dancing Walrus exists. Carved by Padlaya (Palaya) Qiatsuq(Inuk [Kinggait/Cape Dorset]) it is as masterful and as joyful as any classic Looney Tune, which I think is the correct comparison.

For a perfect ending to my Baltimore visit, I went to the Thames Street Oyster House, a oasis of charm set amongst the noisy, rambunctious bars along the waterfront, was immediately seated at the last open stool at the bar and enjoyed some of the best the East Coast had to offer

The B&O Railway Museum has an excellently designed exhibit about the Underground Railroad because there are documented cases of Freedom Seekers traveling through the site, and a primary thought I had was about our current administration’s work to remove statements of truth like this one.

Spent the evening at an Albany Park, Chicago bar folding zines and attaching whistles, hoping they can be distributed to folks who can disrupt ICE’s frightening and immoral actions.

I’m on cloud 9 after getting people together to help neighbors, but the literal best part was people literally buying whistles at the bar to do this again themselves

A comment submitted to Governor Pritzker (MAKE THE GOVERNOR LIVE UP TO HIS WORDS!)

I am very disappointed seeing the Illinois State Police supporting ICE's illegal, racist, anti-immigrant actions in Broadview.

Having caught up on past birthdays’ overdue pies, I decided to try a legitimate pie-of-the-month club once again as Graeme’s 20th birthday present. Ye Olde Pie Shoppe is a monthly compendium of pies inspired by very old pie recipes, ranging from the 19th Century to Ancient Rome.
