I *did* email my kid’s teacher and ask him to let me know if my kid starts to use his leadership skills for evil. 🤣 My kid wasn’t one of the leaders or organizers today, but he said he did chant with the others.

It gives me hope that our kids ARE paying attention to the world around them. They’re inspired to stand up & speak out. It may “only” be some 8- and 9-year-olds pissed off about tiny slides & a lack of swings, but they managed to organize themselves around a single message & make themselves heard.

A few of us parents talked with the principal this evening. He understands & echoes the kids’ frustration—it’s a district-level decision, and construction began before he came to the school— and he has been trying to get improvements where he can. And he definitely appreciates the kids’ enthusiasm.
