WONKY TOWERS 1 🤩🏘
Eagle's Nest was my first FPP Tower. A steep learning curve getting it all correct in the quilt design software.
And when I thought I had done it all the right, and tested the block.... a few unrepeatable words were said 🤣
Choosing the names was a FUN exercise👏🤓

When buying a FPP pattern only, I like to play with the colours. I hardly ever do the same as the pattern. I mirror, change value, make colours brighter or duller.
And then I thought about my own patterns.....🤔

I am always a bit nervous to see if a block comes together as I imagined. And in stead of waiting till its finished I put all pieces together like this to have a 'sneak-peek". 👀
Most of the time I am happy, and sometimes it's a 'that will work' 😜

Can you really see Eagle's Nests from the top of this Wonky Tower? Depending where you imagine it's location. I like to fantasise about places and landscapes to 'build' the Towers in.

FISHING 🦈
No I don't fish at all 🤣 This was a project for a school Art Action for my kids. Living near the sea a lot of the locals are into marlin fishing. I had great fun making this collage quilt and it sold nicely 🤑.

I did all my 16 Wonky Towers as you can see in the left side of the photo. Then someone suggested to try them with a bit more outline. ✏️
So I tried that as you can see on the right. It made the pattern more difficult but I like both versions.

Great fun creating my name and logo. Quippy means witty, taunting, characterized by quips. I thought it was fitting for my Wonky Towers style. 🏰
Orange and yellow are my fav colours and quilting is my life style. That all came together in the Logo.

This was the first time (in 2005) I did an applique on top of traditional bargello quilt pattern. I had fun using shiny fabrics for the Unicorn to get more tones in the whites.
I am still stoked with this quilt.

This is a pattern that I would describe as a ‘more boring’. Using colours that are not my favourite as well as using patterns that not exactly worked out. And in the end it makes a beautiful block.🎨

CHALLENGE 😜
I like to challenge myself. About 15 years ago the quilt group I was part of did a Bargello quilt. Of course I wanted to do it differently 🤪 Worked it out myself on a piece of paper. This is the result.
And yes.... one of my many unfinished quilts that 'only need quilting"

I like to challenge myself. About 15 years ago the quilt group I was part of did a Bargello quilt. Of course I wanted to do it differently 🤪 Worked it out myself on a piece of paper. This is the result.
