💯 this is an epistemological crisis. The ability for propaganda to completely rewire people’s priors and make irrational conclusions appear rational is so much more effective than I ever thought possible.

An entire generation of people raised on memes and Fox News who are just completely unable to separate propaganda from reality. If there is a crisis, it’s epistemological. Fascists will try to bend reality to their ideology, but this always fails in the long run with tons of damage along the way.

Speaking as someone (and a constituent) who works with AI and software engineers, I can say with some confidence that this is 100% bonkers. GenAI is smart but it cannot rewrite the SSA codebase in mere months without egregious sacrifices to quality and datasec. Elon is high on his own supply.
