Found this at Bluestreak today. From 1980. Never heard of the artist but it seems to have a bunch of Peterborough connections. Anyone know anything?

It's been a year since the eclipse!

I made a short personal audio doc about my experience of it. You can listen here:

(Or, tune into 92.7 FM in Ptbo/Nogo this evening at 6:30 p.m.)

It's been a year since the eclipse! My personal documentary about my 2024 solar eclipse experience will air on Trent Radio at 6:30 p.m. tomorrow evening.

It's also Trent Radio's fundraising week so I'll share why the station is so important while I make my annual $92.70 donation live on air.

First-time Green Party volunteer Emmalea Davis said she was “a little afraid” people wouldn’t be receptive when she started door knocking, but many seemed eager to talk.

When a superintendent tried to bar NDP canvassers from entering a high-rise in the Talwood neighbourhood recently, Benjamin Hickey busted out a copy of the Ontario Elections Act to show that's illegal.

The superintendent relented. Know yr rights, people!

Catherine Brunger has been door knocking for the Liberals for 50 years!

“I keep saying to my husband, I gotta retire. I gotta start doing more knitting and reading instead of these [campaigns]. But I can’t just walk away from it," she said.

I was out and about on skis yesterday, including a trip to vote!

You can vote every day from now until Feb 26 at Ptbo Square. Also, advance polls are open from Feb 20 to 22. Then, election day is Feb 27.

Lots of gratitude to the poll workers!

I keep thinking about this person.

- Frustrated with healthcare
- Annoyed at early election
- Annoyed at wasteful spending
- Voting for "Dougie"

Do the non-Con parties have a strategy to reach folks like him?

Here's the proposal. Not sure how they define "average," but do the math and see that households need at least $150K in combined income to realize the estimated $950 of savings.

If you're single and making $60K, this policy would save you $170. A household with two $60K incomes would save $340.

Here's a key vote from last night. Council voted for a second time to maintain municipal funding for discretionary benefits.

We reported back in November that Coun. Parnell was considering changing her vote on this one: peterboroughcurrents.ca/news/discret...

That didn't happen. So, no cuts.

Recent feedback from readers suggested that the majority (90%+) would either not mind, like, or love it if we put local ads on the website.

So we're giving it a try. I'm looking for feedback as we experiment!

We started with a YWCA ad, which we gave to them for free as a sponsor of Empty Bowls.

A classic of the genre from Clifford Skarstedt. (Note that he's wearing the same shirt in both photos!)

For those who don't follow me on Instagram, where I usually share these:

I volunteer at the Trent Valley Archives. My job is to digitize their vast collection of negatives taken by Examiner photographers, most of which were never published. Here are some snapshots from July 1976. (Love that plaid!)

Hello! To continue our conversation over here ... yes, but in the sense that my landlord passes the cost on to me.
