would love to know what's wrong with my chess brain. on move 2 i was faced with the first position here and played d5, and my opponent responded 3. Qf3. then for some reason i played e5 instead of dxc4?? what is wrong with my brain

i managed to squeak out a win on time but positions like this always freak me out and i inevitably blunder, like i did here
white is threatening a fork on f7 of the queen and rook and i don't know why my brain always refuses to accept Kxf7 is a fine refutation of that idea
