I don’t talk about every white author’s book I read especially if it’s easy to find or highly recommended. Every now and again I mention one but I prefer to vocalize BiPOC and marginalized authors. There are some truly incredible books that just don’t get the spotlight they deserve

My very out of touch uncle who likes to throw around that fact that all of my issues are Atlanta based said “well why don’t you just come back home” I’m from a South GA town population of 14k. No major chains, mall, theater or supermarkets. Rent there is STILL $1200+
peoples rent really used to be under 1000 at one point 😭 it’s crazy we’ll never see them numbers again

I’m so sick of this cause we can’t change history but when you preserve the mindset outside of the time period that is when you keep us from true freedom. Freedom to explore. Freedom to exist in spaces our ancestors probably weren’t. Those comments were anti black af
So this black French guy posted a video of him attending a 19th century themed party, and black people were calling him the butler. Telling him he’s still a nigga. He’s a coon for wanting to be there… his hairline… I had a TOTALLY different perspective.

Why are these seasonal job openings waiting to do their interviews so damn late. Most of my interviews are the week before Thanksgiving. Back in 2018 when I did this kind of work I was hired in September. How you gon train new team members a week before Black Friday?!
