An experiment I’ve wanted to try for ages - seeing if our local Forest Scorpions fluoresce under UV light. Not ideal to try in daylight but nevertheless it seems they do #wildoz

Oops! (Rather 🤬) I just realised I haven’t bought any mince tarts this Xmas 🤦‍♂️ I fear it’s too late with the rush to stock hot cross buns before April… (why though? MTs are tasty, HXBs are getting blander every year, not helped by all the non-fruit&spice - and peel-less - abominations!…)

All sorts of interesting presentations here - including Professor Nick Williams' "Keys to the Biodiverse City" as highlighted on FB by Graham Ross of KooyongKoot Alliance #WildOz

While Australia talks about climate action at COP29, at home the Australian Government is approving NEW coal mines.

This one, Narrabri Underground Mine, is so big that it covers nearly the entire area of the electorates of Sydney and Grayndler.

Another native #bee on a #Triggerplant - this one larger and it both hovered in front of me in a vaguely aggressive way and landed on my arm - Megachile perhaps - smaller than a blue-banded bee but flight similar #wildoz

When you accidentally video instead of photograph and it works out better! One of a few types of native bee visiting one of the Triggerplants in our garden (failing to trigger the active columns of the flowers - I think most have already been triggered today) #wildoz #bee #triggerplant

I’ve escaped Twitter, sold my DOGE coins, will never buy anything Tesla and as much as I love rocket 🚀 launches will boycott Sissy SpaceX’s from now on (RocketLab’s launch coverage was always better anyway!). What else can I do to distance myself from the lone skum?

Help please 🦋 folk - I have seen “Invalid handle” on several accounts and just now noticed mine is too. Why is that and how do I fix it? Thanks in advance

Over on 🦃 site I seemed invisible - except for bots and the odd MAGAt - it was disheartening. Here, I’m getting swamped - it’s overwhelming so bear with me as I adjust and try to keep up with all the new 🦋 followers and posts! 😊

Dutton may have the support of fossil fuel billionaire Gina Rinehart, who partied election night away with Trump at Mar-a-lago, but independents have you.

New beginning under these blue skies, here’s a little video I took of a Common Peacock Spider I was lucky enough to spot on the weekend - a creature I’ve been hoping to see ever since I learnt of their existence. 😊 (excuse the shakiness - max zoom, handheld and cropped video)
