I try get at this sentiment with data from 2011 n=1,000 module of (Cooperative) Congressional Election Survey. Q wording in caption. Most think rule breaking by immigrants & employers begets rule breaking by others. When evaluating taxpayers (closest self for most) & athletes(?) that view is subdued

I hope opponents of Trump’s fascism see what scholars who’ve tried to improve our understanding of politics by focusing on power in race, ethnicity, & immigration teach us: this EO to make English official USA language is CONSTITUTIVE of the unfolding coup, NOT a distraction or secondary concern.
The issue with opposition strategies that rely on fidelity to our rules & “letting the process play out” is that wannabe KingTrump & wannabe KingMusk are NOT playing by the same rules. Next, they’ll use the Shaggy defense (“it wasn’t me!”), but that is the evidence of the con.
