A common thread uniting the Gamers and the shitty romantasy fandom is this drive to be told that the media they engage with as a consumer is art but without the hard work involved in engaging with critique and serious thought about it. It's also worth noting that romanticizing the rule of law means adopting a wholly false perspective around what the law is, who it targets, who it privileges, and how it functions—or I suppose it could just be an embrace of that hierarchy, which is also... a problem.

This is what happens when you don’t aggressively kill, sometimes on a daily basis, the part of you that was indoctrinated to be impressed by and enamored with power and its many affirmations. So ridiculous.

Once we get too close to actually holding someone or something accountable there’s an effort to quell the previously righteous anger, and/or redirect it into violence against scapegoats that only ends in more abuse

Rape and abuse and pedophilia and all these things are bad in the abstract but we’re not allowed to say who’s doing it and we’re not allowed to say who was victimized by it. We can’t come up with ways to stop it from happening, either

That’s (part of) why so much energy is invested in who is allowed to be called a victim, what crimes are allowed to be called crimes. Well unless the child is below the age of 15 it doesn’t even matter, and we won’t believe the ones under 15 exist. We know it’s happening but stop being mad about it
