Malik Lutfi contemplated which of his family's belongings to salvage in the few moments he was given while Israeli troops carried out home demolitions in the Tulkarm refugee camp where he grew up in the Israeli-occupied West Bank.

Instead of banning them, the U.S. should welcome immigrants and travelers who flee oppressive governments. It poses little security risk to the U.S., can massively help those who escape, and may even promote freedom in the countries they flee.

In 2018, Trump hailed a trade deal with South Korea as "fair and reciprocal" and said it was "a historic milestone in trade." So much for that.
Trump undermines his own South Korea deal with new 25 percent tariffs
South Korea was not the only country whose goods were hit with higher tariffs on Monday, nor does it seem likely to be the last.

Brutal account of what it’s like to teach at the University of Florida right now in the NYT—extraordinary climate of fear. People afraid to say intersectional and talk about lynchings. Fake students trying to entrap Muslim faculty or just making things up altogether. www.nytimes.com/2025/05/07/o...

Yup, that’s just the thing. The news blackout is getting widened. Already, reporting in Indian media has an entirely different look from what’s being reported elsewhere. Now all Indian media will also look alike.

A month ago they were ready to wipe out all Muslims from India; for 1000s of years they've been persecuting Dalits; and today, they showed they won't care a bit about people living on borders, even on the Indian side. It's just pseudo-machismo and fanning hatred. That's Hindutva.

All she did was co-author an article for the college paper. A brutal assault on free speech and human rights.
Video footage obtained by NBC News shows the moment Rumeysa Ozturk was arrested. Oztur is a Turkish national and doctoral student at Tufts University with a valid student visa, her lawyer says.

Like we are already at that stage where they are questioning the very core logic of freedom of speech!
