Gasfield House, Ormeau Road . Belfast c.1874. Gasfield House was demolished 1878-9 and the new gasworks buildings were built on the site. The Manager of the Gasworks lived in the house.

Congratulations to Robyn Atcheson on her work leading to the unveiling of a Great Famine memorial at the Shankill Graveyard in Belfast.
The memorial marks the main burial place in Belfast for those who died in those terrible times.

From PRONI: map of the proposed park at Sydenham, Belfast, known as Victoria Park.

This map dates to the 1890s when the land was owned by the Harbour Commissioners. In 1892 Belfast Corporation took over the land and the park opened to the public in 1906 and completed in 1912/13.
