Yes, “connecting the dots” - with imagined conclusions. Why didn’t the article cite any real examples of a computer being hacked via *power supply* of all things?

There are actual investigative journalists for whom this would be a career-defining break. Why are none of them covering this?

Here’s what I said, not the most polished complaint but it was just something I wrote in the moment.
I previously complained about a push notification regarding RFK Jr’s plan to cut off all funding from mRNA vaccines, reference [redacted] You sent me back a generic response to many public complaints that fundamentally failed to deal with the thrust of my complaint: the majority of your app users only engage with most stories via the notification, or maybe the headline. It is not acceptable to use a clickbait headline that gives false balance to beyond-the-pale views, and then have the views of scientists several paragraphs deep into the article: 90% of people (you will have the accurate stats, I’m sure) seeing the notification, or more, will not see that rebuttal. I also do not accept your argument that the notification is just about “funding”. His withdrawal of funding is not happening in a vacuum and it is not a neutral act unconnected to the safety & efficacy of vaccines. Pulling funding is an act of enormous harm to worldwide health, to science, and a clear signal that the US government is anti-science and pro-eugenics. You know RFK Jr. is a eugenicist. To even suggest he *might* have a point is to fail to show due impartiality, just like it would to suggest climate deniers have a point. And to suggest it is a “mistake” and not a deliberate act of harm is also wrong. Would you put out the push notification “Does Donald Trump have a point on climate science, or is pulling renewables permits a mistake”? Or “Does Netanyahu have a point on Gaza, or is withholding food a mistake”? Here is a suggested rephrasing: “Why RFK’s attack on mRNA vaccine funding is a catastrophe for global healthcare”. That gives due impartiality to the overwhelming consensus that vaccines are safe & effective. There does not seem to be accountability more generally at the BBC for your notifications. Who writes them? Is there a review process for non-breaking news? This is opaque for our national & publicly-funded broadcaster.

Hey, just to follow up on that, Ian Leslie liked the following incredibly transphobic reply (whose author I have now blocked, along with Ian). So given he clearly has a penchant for bigotry and bias, maybe not the best person to be broadcasting and praising?

Yes, this is correct. I have an iPhone 13 (i.e. almost 4 years old now) and it does it on device. Siri too.

Apple have made privacy a big part of their brand and while you can never fully trust a corporation, they’ve got a strong incentive to stay honest.
Terms and Conditions: Siri and Dictation When you use Siri, your device will indicate in Siri Settings if the things you say are processed on your device and not sent to Apple servers. Otherwise, your audio is sent to and processed on Apple servers. Unless you opt in to Improve Siri and Dictation, your audio data is not stored by Apple. In all cases, transcripts of your interactions will be sent to Apple to process your requests and may be stored by Apple. When you use Dictation, your device will indicate in Keyboard Settings if your audio and transcripts are processed on your device and not sent to Apple servers. Otherwise, the things you dictate are sent to and processed on the server, but will not be stored unless you opt in to Improve Siri and Dictation. Apple will also store related request data, such as the category of request you made and whether it was completed successfully, device specifications, device configuration, performance statistics and, if you have turned on Location Services for Siri, the approximate location of your device at the time the request was made. How are GPs able to get away with this?

Yesterday it said it would open today at 8am, so I waited until today.

Now it says it’s not available until Thursday. And after inquiring they told me that was a lie too as no-one would be available on Thursday!

It's far more complicated", Comment). They undoubtedly experience prejudice. This is similar to racism and the two words are often used as if they are interchangeable. It is true that many types of white people with points of difference, such as redheads, can experience this prejudice. But they are not all their lives subject to racism. In pre-civil rights America, Irish people, Jewish people and Travellers were not required to sit at the back of the bus. In apartheid South Africa, these groups were allowed to vote. Like this is verging on holocaust denial, especially when you look at the evidence she gives to back up her case.

I don’t think the two are connected - I think it just happens that disability pay will be higher - but yes, minimum wage should probably go up too.

But to be fair, minimum wage has been increasing at a decent rate!
