Faith community grounded in stillness. We believe in working together to create a more just, equal and peaceful world.

We know that many people of faith are understandably afraid of attacks on their places of worship at this time.

But we're concerned that the Crime and Policing Bill will further restrict the right to protest while doing nothing to protect places of worship from targeted violence and harassment.

Quakers were proud to take part in the Scottish Mass Climate Lobby. The event showed the strength of support for a just transition in Scotland.

Over 250 people attended, speaking to 27 MSPs, including the First Minister John Swinney.

No one should profit from war and violence.

As protests against arms dealers continue today, Quakers handed in their demand to Clarion Events, calling on them to drop the DSEI arms fair.

As part of the No Faith in War day, 200 people joined our Meeting for Worship, creating a grounded space in the face of the violence embodied by the DSEI arms fair.

Tomorrow, join us to hand in a demand to stop DSEI. Meeting Waterloo train station, 11am: tinyurl.com/stop-dsei

Yesterday, Quakers led a walk of witness to arms company HQs, speaking out against those who profit from war and suffering.

We also joined with Pax Christi for a silent candlelit vigil outside the Excel Centre, where the DSEI arms fair is taking place.

Quakers worship in silence – an active silence we call stillness. In the stillness we seek to connect with God, each other and the world around us. It is where we find the strength and inspiration for everything we do. 🙏

It was a real pleasure to sit down with Faith & Communities Minister Wajid Khan to discuss the role of faith groups in building community cohesion and the importance of strengthening interfaith relations. As Quakers, we look forward to playing our part.

"Till at last the whole world came into the stillness
And on the two fields his people walked,
And through, and between, and about them, goodwill widened
And rose out of hiding, to make them all one..."

The news that arrest warrants have been issued by the ICC against Israeli and Hamas leaders sends a clear signal: no party to this violence is above the law.

We pray this will herald a desperately needed turning point for the region. www.quaker.org.uk/news-and-eve...
