I'm ok with "racism is dumb", not with "scientific racists think skin color makes you not smart lol". But we've already talked too much about this, have a good day
November 8, 2025 at 10:36 PM
Nope, but I won't get my point across apparently. Have a good night
November 8, 2025 at 10:32 PM
That's not it. I don't care about the racists, I'm worried about the people who will find *your* arguments against them so bad that they'll start listening to them more seriously, because it's something I've seen before. But don't bother I get it it feels good to just say they're so dumb

I agree with all these sentences. The post quoted in the OP is a caricature.

🤷
November 8, 2025 at 6:21 PM
Look, I'm not saying we should have endless debates about their views and give them a platform. But the original post is just too far from just expressing their dumb view to mean anything
November 8, 2025 at 6:17 PM
Maybe there's something in between the two. Why do you need to caricature them to prove they're dumb, explain to me?
November 8, 2025 at 6:13 PM
No, my theory is we should explain better why they're dumb. "Haha they believe tan has to do with intelligence" is not it. You're making it too easy for them
November 8, 2025 at 6:09 PM
Ok, let's give all the dumb people an opportunity to feel smart when they fall for racism then
November 8, 2025 at 4:01 PM
My unpopular opinion: caricaturing the racists in this way is a dangerous game. Some people fall for racism the day they discover it can be slightly more sophisticated than what they were told it was.
apropos james watson’s death i had an idle thought today about how stupid race/iq stuff sounds. “buh if your skin is darker you are biologically less smart” is a thing only a dumbass can believe

The point is better made here. The quoted post is a straw man
