1. Spread the word!

This event was available to nearly any Wii user. Future online MKWii competitions overwrote this data, but we encourage anyone who might’ve had the event to share their file. Your grandma’s Wii could be the answer!

With the data recovered, this tournament could be rehosted via WFC revival services! In fact, Wiimmfi already rehosts the ~45 already-archived tournaments for players today.

In this event, players were tasked to knock four Topmen, originally from Super Mario Galaxy off of the stage.

This event was rerun in 2009 with six Topmen, but the original variant with four Topmen remains lost today.

So how can you help recover the puzzles?

1. Spread the word!

Considering most people who received the puzzle are from Japan, reaching out across the language barrier is a bit of a challenge. If anyone can reach out in Japan-based communities, that’d be very appreciated.

By archiving, users would be able to access every puzzle, regardless of region and limited distribution period. The archival process doesn’t require any modding!

The other two rare puzzles, “Big Mac” and “Mario & Happy”, would both be available through the same method.

Adding to difficulty, this was one of three limited-time, region-exclusive puzzles.

It was available via Nintendo Zone from July 21-September 30, 2012, at three ANA airports:

- Haneda Airport Terminal 2 (Tokyo)
⁃ New Chitose Airport (Hokkaido)
⁃ Naha Airport (Okinawa)
