Every year I create a small puzzle hunt for the Mohonk Mountain House, host of the annual Wonderful Weekend of Words. And this year's puzzle set -- Have Fun Storming The Castle! -- is now available for at-home solving!

You can grab it in the Shop at puzzlesnacks.com (look under Puzzle Hunts).

Very few examples of "This could have been a headline from The Onion!" actually feel like they could have been from the Onion, but I do think this one qualifies.

It would have been more impressive if ALL the blurb names rhymed.
Robert Tracinski's new book on Trump's authoritarianism, Dictator From Day One, comes with some impressive blurbs.

Congress passed a bipartisan law long ago mandating that a plaque honoring the officers who defended Capitol on J6 be displayed in the building. Mike Johnson has ignored that law and refuses to do it.

But, you know, some Democrats still say "Latinx," so who can really say who's worse.
Justice Sotomayor, not mincing words, also says that today's decision will lead to the "creation of [] a second-class citizenship status" for Latinos, who now will have the burden to "carry enough documentation to prove that they deserve to walk freely."

This is EXACTLY what I thought I read about this new executive order.
Genuinely think the whole point of the flag burning ban now IS that no one is doing it and they want to entice people to in protest because it plays so well for them
Also, like, when's the last time you remember anyone doing it? We have real fake problems to worry about. Like China gaming the tiktok algorithm or whatever.

As someone who uses quotes as puzzle fodder, I really preferred it when the Internet used to be semi-quasi-sorta-accurate.
I wrote about how AI chatbots are pumping out fake quotes, attributed to real people, at scale, and polluting our public disourse with potemkin pontification and made-up appeals to authority. And the AIs are not just misquoting famous people—it happened to me and it could happen to you. Gift link:
