There's a bigger city I can try but it's a long bus ride away and the large mart we used there for years went under two years ago...I don't remember seeing floor lamps there either but I need to try something...but it went out...ugh....I miss Walmart!!! 😭😭😭

Most things in stores here are small, must be frequently replaced, and have to be items that move fast. Floor lamps are just not one of those things. They're too big and once you have one it lasts for a while so you're not buying more any time soon. So frustrated right now.

NONE OF THESE THINGS ARE REMOTELY CLOSE TO A "FLOOR LAMP."

just order from Amazon and have it imported again but the plug would be american and wouldn't work here.

Obnoxiously bright blinding white halogens are built into the ceilings standard but we don't need all that. Just need soft little yellow leds. Halogens are the WORST for the environment, our eyes, and our electric bill. Trying to live outside standard is rough sometimes.

I'm about to take the table lamp apart, glue the socket head to one of the old metal mop sticks I keep ice and glue it to a plate.

It's really not that hard. It really shouldn't be that expensive.

It's a lamp socket.

On the end of a metal stick.

Wedged into a metal plate to keep the stick up.

Almost... Just going to say that the lamp is only slightly bent from falling down last night and I pushed the wire back in and I think it's safe. Just not going to leave it on unattended until I'm sure.

Tried to price up basic floor lamps on gmarket and those things were $19.99 at Walmart, wtf

Cut some hot glue sticks down and wedged them behind the brackets between them and the wall so at least it's level again and not hanging down at a 330° angle anymore with the wood slats just keeping the grippy bottom of the lamp from sliding off. 🫡🙄🫠 I'm done for the day.
