My aunts living in Ottawa used to plan full weekends for the theatre - they'd typically take the train down and stay overnight at the Royal York or similar, and see 2 or even 3 shows. Now they take an early train, plan for a matinee, and then head home.

My mom is cooking and freezing all of her Halloween pumpkins, because canned puree has gone from $3.99 to $6.99 in the last 3 years. Bonkers!

Love that she is *87 years old* and expertly needling him. The real life version of Maggie Smith's character in Gosford Park.

The 2010s cinematic universe-serialized movie craze really caused some damage, eh?

“He’s a spy doing spy stuff!” is all audiences reasonably expect from James Bond. We don’t actually expect the Brits to give their spies generous expense accounts. This isn’t The Ipcress File.

Hubs and I saw what we thought would be a basic "How It's Made" about Costco's pumpkin pies on YouTube. We quickly realized that it was AI slop, but first I yelled at the screen about its mistakes because I know the real history of pumpkin pie in the US thanks to Max Miller (Tasting History).
