Mike Davis and many others have been talking about this for decades. Even with all of the mountains of evidence on climate change they are continuing to rebuild from disasters the same way and often more densely in the same places e.g. the Florida coast, Santa Rosa, and probably very soon in Malibu.

Growing up in California, Malibu and Topanga
Fires would be in the news regularly with a few homes burned, but most surviving. Now we have firestorms inside tornadoes. It is climate change and it is going to get exponentially worse quickly for all natural disasters.
