I wouldn't be huge on labels if you're in a stage of exploration and discovery.

Just learn to explore your interests for now, and know that whatever it is you feel is valid. Labels can be nice, but they're definitely not everything, and unfortunately their meaning changes per person.

Each has their own struggles, as some *cant* be as public about their attractions / interests as others due to family / friends / work.

But living in the shadows under fear of scrutiny, and living out in the open despite it are two very different, but valid struggles of queer identity.

The only thing that puts me off is when a bi person has a straight relationship, keeps their queer side "in the shadows", and then tries to talk like they know the exact struggle of someone in a same-sex relationship, or that having "gay fantasies" suddenly gives them the right to use gay slurs.

I'd say it's whatever label you're comfortable with using.

A "het-passing" / "straight" relationship doesn't remove your attraction towards men. You can still be bisexual and in a hetero-romantic relationship.
