In case you're an internet animal writer that is unaware of this pub:

(Just be sure to read their submission guidelines, as they don't want zipperbacking, which eliminates a lot of furry stuff.)
Submit submit submit!

(Submissions sent during our December 1-15 window will be published in our February 2026 issue.)

World aids day: a thread.

Those that know me know I usually try to inform people about some manner of struggles HIV+ people endure on this day, and, as usual, this comes from both personal experience and research.

This years topic is the # of annual AIDS-related deaths that still happen.

Not Walmart coming through with the most trailer-park Christmas decor I've ever seen.

(Yes, I've already ordered one.)

Christ we are so fucked tbh.
For real, check this out. Evil.

Crazy that writers are being asked to record their writing process to debase AI accusations.

1st, I dont want you to see the shitty first drafts. Why I have people to vet and edit them.

You win this round, Capitalism Christmas.

God I love the internet.

Gonna have to quit my job at the largest American megacorp because their insurance won't cover my life-saving meds.

My department makes them $80,000 a day in sales.

I just needed to share this somewhere, because I can't even enjoy writing anymore with the mental stress this has added.

Ring around the moon at midnight on Halloween? Nice.

Only ended up getting 1 trick-or-treater. Which is kinda a bummer, but I still hope everyone had a good Halloween. Final pics before boxing it up to make room for Christmas.

Got my 4th piece of fan art today, and I gotta tell you there's nothing like inspiring someone to create.

"Look at this."

And you just slowly realize what scene and/or characters they drew, (even if a small one) and just... It reminds you why you first wanted to tell a good story. It's humbling.

Support human artists and writers.

Don't support any that cross those picket lines. Don't read books with AI covers, and don't interact with artists that use Chat Gpt.

It's a simple picket line. Not up for debate.
Freelance illustration gigs drying up. Ad agencies using Midjourney instead of hiring human artists. Costume design turned over to AI wholesale. Good work vanishing.

These are the stories of working visual artists, who describe losing jobs, wages, and hope as their clients and bosses embrace AI.
Artists are losing work, wages, and hope as bosses and clients embrace AI
Visual artists, illustrators and graphic designers share their stories about how AI is being used to lower wages, degrade work and even replace it altogether, in this installment of AI Killed My Job.
