Started reading Life for Sale. My first Yukio Mishima novel is about a man whose suicide attempt fails, quits his job and then advertises his life for sale to anyone for anything at any price. I'm only 3 chapters in but it's amusing. First offer is a guy wanting his wife killed. #booksky
A Short Stay in Hell by Steven L. Peck is an interesting novella about what happens if your religion is wrong and Hell is nothing like what you expected. At times amusing and sad and poignant, this explores the question, what is more important... Finding the story of your life or living it? #booksky

A new kid came to the gym, a grey belt. Maybe only 1.5 yrs training. But I could tell she was very good at scrambling. She took my kid's back in seconds and my kid was all WTF. So she had to actually try, lol. She eventually submitted the girl but I told her; don't assume based on belt colour.

This doesn't even come close to what farmers have lost because of Trump.
Trump: "I'm delighted to announce this afternoon that the US will be taking a small portion of the hundreds of billions of dollars we receive in tariffs ... and we're going to be giving and providing it to the farmers in economic assistance. We love our farmers. The farmers like me ... $12 billion"

"Your favorite president, ME!"

Legitimately hilarious.

Much like with climate change, it doesn't matter if you don't believe in vaccine science. Insurance companies sure do. And insurers will start using their vaccine stupidity against them if they haven't started already.

The more I think about Train Dreams, the more I believe this is the best film Netflix has put out. It's so quiet + sparse + lonely with some really great Terrance Malick imagery about society progressing + leaving the people that built it behind. Too bad it's on Netflix; I'd love to own a Blu-ray.

Upgraded the tree with more lights. This year's tree was way chonkier than last year's.

I'm telling you, Trump will not stop this merger. He owes no allegiance to anybody. It's all about who is the latest to pay tribute.

Today we are going on the annual family trip up Grouse Mountain. We just got here and so far there have been half a dozen tantrums. So... Actually pretty good trip so far. Already better than last year.

Yesterday at a restaurant this woman was patiently negotiating with her 3 yr old who was standing in the middle of the isle repeatedly saying "No!" And a long line of people trying to get by were waiting.
I get why folks do gentle parenting but sometimes you just have to pick up the kid and go.

I find it so bizarre when people talk on their phones through speakerphone or FaceTime in public where everyone can hear and see.

Casablanca Part Two: Rick's Revenge. Only on Netflix.
The fact that they’re calling Casablanca a “franchise”… 😑

Over the years my wife has been substituting ground turkey into meals involving sauces. But I really don't like it. I just made spaghetti sauce with ground turkey and it didn't taste right until I added hot sauce, lol. Turkey is just not my thing outside of holidays, but my kids like it.

Sun peaked out for 45 minutes. Which means I'm on the patio with a beer. Which also means Missy is hanging out with me too.

Have a good one, fellas. 🍻

I misplaced my glasses so I've been wearing my prescription sunglasses all day inside stores and wandering out in the rain like a jackass and just now at the liquor store the kid at checkout said I looked like a surfer.

Great.
