London's Elizabeth Line (Crossrail) and Melbourne's Metro Tunnel have a lot in common.
The Elizabeth Line is a roaring success. Key to this is quick frequent connections. Easy interchange will be equally important for Melbourne's Metro Tunnel and connecting suburban lines.

We agree with Albo - public transport is the best way to move people around big cities. We hope to see more State and Federal investment to make public transport faster, more frequent, more accessible, and easier to use. #auspol

#Melbourne trams spend a huge amount of their time just waiting for traffic lights.
Traffic light priority would mean faster trips, more competitive travel times, and even enable more frequent tram services with the current fleet.
