I hesitate to name names. I’ve had a couple of bad years and maybe a little too thin-skinned. I was probably just rationalizing a desire to eat an unreasonably large box of Mike & Ikes and not serious about my cinema.

I use the DVD install, not the ‘live’, say ‘no’ to use mirrors, for perma-installing on a machine;
/etc/apt/sources.list has to be amended after install for Deb.Debian.org pulls, only shows DVD by-default;
pretty smooth installer otherwise,
your old HW can live foreva
